International retailer Toys R Us replicated its bricks-and-mortar success online, increasing customer engagement via segmentation, personalisation and automation in a series of email campaigns.

According to the Toys R Us commerce
director, using Emarsys’ automated lifecycle email campaigns has decreased production time and increased the in-house team’s efficiency fourfold. Open rates have nearly tripled and click-through rates increased 5.5 times over.

There was a 45 per cent increase in the conversion rate and 40 per cent increased average order value on repeat purchases – across six European countries.
